How Project Akrites Is Building a Global Open Source Security Response Team | CRob, OpenSSF

AI-powered tools have compressed vulnerability discovery from weeks to hours. The same open source libraries powering banks, hospitals, and critical infrastructure are being scanned independently by hundreds of organizations, and every day those findings sit uncoordinated is a day attackers have a window.

In this exclusive interview with Swapnil Bhartiya at TFiR, Christopher "CRob" Robinson, CTO of OpenSSF and Chief Security Architect at the Linux Foundation, introduces Project Akrites, a new neutral coordination layer designed to responsibly route AI-generated vulnerability findings to upstream open source maintainers before public disclosure.

Key Topics Covered:
– How LLM-generated vulnerability reports evolved from AI slop to near-professional quality between late 2024 and mid-2025
– Why uncoordinated scanning by thousands of independent actors creates a race condition between defenders and attackers
– How Project Akrites differs from OpenSSF and where each fits in the secure software development lifecycle
– The role of open-weight models in confidential, steerable vulnerability analysis versus frontier commercial models
– How Akrites supports CRA compliance obligations and finds stewards for abandoned or end-of-support open source projects

How AI agents reproduced ICML 2026 papers

We just wrapped up the 2026 ICML Reproduction Challenge, with more than 1,200 participants & their agents! More than 2,000 different papers were reproduced or falsified (1/3 of all of the papers at the conference). Participants created ~13k repos ~3TB of artifacts. This is likely the biggest attempt to reproduce a major AI conference!

In this livestream, we are announcing the winners of the ICML 2026 Agents Reproduction challenge. We will be awarding prizes (Hugging Face credits) to the top 4 participants.

🎉Congratulations to all our winners, and thank you to everyone who joined us in the reproduction challenge.

A Software Engineer's Guide to Scaling Robotics - OpenCV Live 219

One robot is a demo; a hundred robots is an operations problem. Civ Robotics CTO Amit Moran walks through the software practices that keep a distributed rover fleet alive in the field — pinned builds, heartbeats on everything, remote restarts, and the mission data that saves you after the fact.

OpenCV is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit in the United States. See how you can support open source CV & AI: http://opencv.org/support/

Keep Cloud Native Moving: Building Japan’s Platform for Open Innovation – Jonathan Bryce, Executive Director, Cloud and Infrastructure, The Linux Foundation & Chris Aniszczyk, CTO, Cloud and Infrastructure, The Linux Foundation

Cloud native has become the operating model for modern software, but AI is redefining what comes next. As organizations build sovereign AI platforms, deploy inference at scale, and introduce autonomous agents into production, the demands on cloud native infrastructure are rapidly scaling. From Kubernetes and platform engineering to observability, networking, and distributed systems, the cloud native ecosystem is becoming the foundation for trustworthy AI.

Japan offers a unique perspective on this transformation. With nearly one million cloud native developers and an infrastructure strategy that blends on-premises systems, hybrid cloud, and cloud native technologies, Japanese organizations are demonstrating that there is no single path to modernization. As AI adoption accelerates, these strengths position Japan to help shape the next generation of intelligent infrastructure.

In this keynote, Jonathan Bryce and Chris Aniszczyk will explore how the CNCF community is enabling the next wave of AI infrastructure, why open source collaboration matters more than ever, and how every developer, from first-time contributors to experienced maintainers, can help keep cloud native moving.
