ClickHouse on FSx for NetApp ONTAP: Query S3-Compatible Data Directly with NetApp Instaclustr

Your analytics data doesn’t have to live in Amazon S3 for ClickHouse to query it like it does. Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP can expose an S3-compatible object store, and ClickHouse’s s3() table function works against any S3-compatible endpoint. No pipeline. No copy. No second source of truth.

On the NetApp Instaclustr managed platform, connecting them takes a form and a button. This video walks through the full flow in five minutes.

YOU’LL NEED

• An Instaclustr-managed ClickHouse cluster in an AWS BYOC account
• An FSxN file system in the same AWS account, in a different VPC
• Non-overlapping CIDR ranges between the two
• Your FSxN IDs, endpoints, credentials, and CA certificate

One copy of the data, ONTAP storage underneath, and ClickHouse compute that scales independently. Your existing NAS becomes your analytics lake.
