Disney und Epic Games haben eine umfangreiche Kooperation angekündigt. Zusammen wollen die Unternehmen eine Art Metaverse für Disney-Fans auf die Beine stellen.
Wie das “Spiel” dann am Ende aussehen wird, ist noch nicht ganz klar. Auf jeden Fall kommt Epics Unreal Engine 5 zum Einsatz und eine Verbindung zu Fortnite wird ebenfalls gegeben sein. Schon jetzt tummeln sich auf den Battle-Royale-Maps ja allerlei Figuren aus Star Wars, Marvel und weiteren Disney-Marken.
In demselben Zuge wurde auch bekannt gegeben, dass Disney 1,5 Milliarden US-Dollar in Epic investiert. Wann das Projekt starten soll, wurde noch nicht mitgeteilt.
