Fedora 45 Beta is here, bringing GNOME 51, Linux Kernel 7.2, major security improvements, a completely modernized Linux console, Fedora Atomic improvements, and some surprisingly big changes under the hood.

But Fedora 45 is also a strange release. One of its most anticipated features — automatic Btrfs full-system snapshots and rollback — didn’t make it. KDE users also aren’t getting Plasma 6.8 in the Beta, while several of Fedora’s biggest improvements are things most users will never actually see.
