La tâche fut plus compliquée ce jeudi face à l’Italien Lorenzo Sonego. Ce dernier a réalisé une grande partie pour faire douter le n°2 mondial. Alcaraz s’en est finalement sorti sur le score de 6-4, (3)6-7, 6-3, 7-6(3) au terme d’un combat de 3h24. Il se mesurera à la wild card Juncheng Shang, 18 ans, au 3e tour.
