Suspendue 4 ans pour deux infractions distinctes au Tennis Anti-Dopping Programme (TADP), premièrement en raison de la découverte de roxadustat dans un échantillon d’urine lors de l’US Open 2022, et deuxièmement pour des irrégularités dans son passeport biologique, la Roumaine est suspendue jusqu’au 6 octobre 2026. L’ancienne numéro 1 mondiale continue toutefois de s’entrainer et espère toujours renverser la situation. Elle a vécu une semaine décisive en tentant de s’expliquer en appel devant le TAS.
