Q Qaida is an introductory program that teaches beginners how to read the Arabic Script for Quranic recitation. It starts with the basic Arabic letters and gradually introduces different vowel sounds and Quranic pronunciation rules. It is commonly used to establish a solid foundation for Tajweed and Quranic recitation.

New Geely GALAXY L6 2024

Geely Galaxy L6, whose pre-sale price was recently announced at the 2023 Chengdu Auto Show, will be officially available on September 16. This model has announced a pre-sale price range of 128,000 to 158,000 yuan, and there will be a total of four models.

As the second model of Geely Galaxy. Equipped with a new generation Thor electric hybrid system called “Thor Electric Hybrid 8848”, it is built based on the e-CMA smart electric hybrid architecture and is positioned as a compact car. In terms of appearance, the new car adopts the latest design language of the Galaxy family on its front and adopts a closed design with the popular split headlight set. Overhead daytime running lights are connected to integrated high and low beam headlights. Light strips arranged vertically on both sides are daytime running lights.

Compared with the front face design, the side design is relatively simple; There is not only a suspended ceiling design, but also a fastback design. The length, width and height of Geely Galaxy L6 are 4782 mm/1875 mm/1489 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2752 mm.

At the rear of the car, the taillights of the new car have a complex structure. Chrome plating strips on both sides of the rear bumper also add some details to the rear of the car.

The overall design style of the interior is somewhat similar to that of the L7, although there is no screen for the co-pilot, but the overall high-end quality is still maintained. In terms of multimedia, Geely Galaxy L6 is equipped with Galaxy N OS smart operating system. The whole series comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip as standard, 13.2+10.25 inch dual widescreen display, dual-tone zone intelligent voice interaction system, global OTA cloud.

In terms of power, the entire Geely Galaxy L6 series is equipped with a new generation Thor electric hybrid 8848 power system, consisting of 1.5TD hybrid special motor + 3-speed variable frequency electric drive DHT Pro. The special engine has a maximum power of 120 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 225 Nm, and the thermal efficiency reaches 44.26%. The maximum power of the engine is 107 kW, the maximum torque is 338 Nm, the overall system power is 287 kW, the overall torque is 535 Nm and the WLTC overall range is 1,370 kilometers. Offering two pure electric range options, 60 kilometers and 125 kilometers, the new car is equipped with fast charging and external discharge functions as standard in all series.

Welcome to this edition of Showcase Shorts – this one is full of demos worth watching!

Hello Moodlers,

Welcome to this edition of ‘Showcase Shorts’.

As we approach the releases of Moodle LMS and Moodle Workplace 4.3, more and more of our work is coming to life, which means that this edition is full of live demos which we hope you will enjoy!

Let’s look at the demos for Moodle LMS first:

  • Next, we have a demo of our new integration with the Matrix Messaging system which will be bringing the power of modern messaging into the heart of Moodle, helping educators and their students stay better connected.

  • Onto a demo of some of the features of our new activity cards, with improvements that will help reduce the time and effort it takes to manage activities in courses and help reduce the scroll length of courses, making them easier to navigate for students.

  • Next up, a demo of the new Default Activity Completion functionality enabling the management of completion criteria for a whole site, reducing the time and effort required to manage these settings. #proudlysupportedbytheMUA 

     

  • And finally, a demo of our new Mime Icon Formats, modernising the look and feel of Moodle and making the icons easier to understand for all of our users.

Next, let’s take a look at the demos from the Moodle Workplace team:

  • Firstly, a demo of some of the functionality being introduced as part of the new Course Catalogue feature which is bringing self-directed learning to the Moodle ecosystem.

  • Next, a demo of the new Manually Assigned Manager feature, which will help organisations better integrate their HR systems with Moodle and make the life of HR managers everywhere a lot easier!

  • And finally, a demo of the new Public Custom Pages capability, that will make it possible to show custom pages to a wider range of audiences.

Last but not least, a demo from our Moodle Mobile Apps team, introducing support for self-enrolment in the Mobile app.

That’s it for the demos!

In other news, we are very happy to report that we are making great progress towards the achievement of WCAG AA accreditation for Moodle LMS 4.1 and 4.2 – we are ahead of our plan to complete this before the end of the year.

And one final call out, QA time is here! Our QA cycle for Moodle LMS 4.3 started on the 11th of September. If you’d like to get involved, please watch this video that will give you all the tips you need to do so.

Specbee: Simplified PHP Debugging with XDebug in Lando & DDev for Drupal

Fun fact: The world’s first computer bug was a real moth! But don’t worry, we’re not here to debug insects. We all know that debugging is vital in website development. It helps developers identify and resolve issues, leading to a smoother and more reliable end product. To achieve that, you need the right tools. One such technique that can help you troubleshoot your PHP is XDebug.In this article, I’d like to share the steps and requirements involved in setting up PHP debugging with XDebug on Lando and DDEV Drupal setups using the VS Code IDE. Let’s dive in!

What is XDebug
Xdebug is a standard and powerful debugger in PHP and improves your development experience. It provides us developers with key features that help in finding and fixing the errors in code. 
Step Debugging – A way to step through your code in your editor while the script is executing.
Improvements to PHP’s error reporting – This allows you to get better error messages and obtain more information from PHP’s built-in functions. An upgraded var_dump() function, stack traces for Notices, Warnings, Errors, and Exceptions to highlight the code path to the error.
Tracing – When an error occurs, Xdebug generates detailed stack traces that show the sequence of function calls leading up to the error, helping developers pinpoint the source of the issue. Xdebug helps in tracking the values of variables during script execution, making it easier to understand how values change as the script progresses.
Profiling – With the help of visualization tools, it allows you to analyze the performance of your PHP application and identify bottlenecks. 
Code Coverage Analysis – This can generate code coverage reports, to show which parts of your code base are executed when running unit tests with PHPUnit.
Support for Various IDEs – Xdebug supports integration with multiple IDEs such as PhpStorm, Visual Studio Code, Eclipse, NetBeans, and more.
XDebug with VS Code IDE
I chose VS Code here as it’s one of the most used and my favorite editor. Install Visual Studio Code (VS Code) if you haven’t already.To make Xdebug work on this IDE, the first thing you need is the ‘PHP Debug’ Extension. Find and install it. This is needed for projects running on Lando or even with DDEV.

Enabling Xdebug on Lando
Lando by default does not provide you with an Xdebug extension. To enable Xdebug on Lando add the xdebug: true line to your .lando.yml file under the config key:

In terms of performance, an even better option is to toggle between Xdebug on and off with some custom tooling commands.  If you’re using Apache, tweak your .lando.yml with the following lines and don’t forget to run lando rebuild -y after.

Making Xdebug work on VS Code
The next step is to create a custom .vscode/launch.json file within your workspace. This will map paths so that XDebug works correctly.Open your project in the VS Code IDE, go to ‘Run and Debug’ and click on ‘create a launch.json file’

This will create the launch.json file with relevant configurations. Update the ‘Listen for Xdebug’ section with the below details. Note that the Xdebug 3 listens on port 9003.

Enable Xdebug on Lando using:
lando xdebug-onIn the menu, click on Run → Start Debugging. Ensure “Listen for Xdebug” is selected by the green arrowhead at the top left. The bottom pane of VS Code will be changed to orange (live) and should say “Listen for Xdebug”.

In your browser, navigate to your Lando app’s URL and find the Xdebug helper extension in the address bar.  It is usually a “beetle” icon. Click on it and choose “Debug” from the menu to tell your browser to send the appropriate parameters to Xdebug so that Xdebug activates when a request is made.

Refresh the page or click on your site link. VS Code should now automatically open the Debug window and produce a debug output if a breakpoint is reached.

When your code execution reaches a breakpoint, the debugger will stop, and you can inspect variables, step through code, and understand the flow. VS Code will provide a user interface for interacting with the debugging session.
XDebug + VS Code + DDEV
Unlike Lando, with DDEV, Xdebug already exits out of the box. You don’t need any custom service, no rebuild, no browser extensions, no Drama! :)Just update the project’s .vscode/launch.json to add the “Listen for Xdebug” configuration from the below-attached config snippet.

JRuby 9.3.x is compatible with Ruby 2.6.x and stays in sync with C Ruby. As always there is a mix of miscellaneous fixes so be sure to read the issue list below.
