Embedded Signup v4 is a new unified onboarding architecture that allows developers to integrate WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram Direct APIs through a single streamlined flow instead of separate integrations. Guilherme Belintani, Partner Engineer at Meta, explains how to migrate from legacy versions (v2/v3).
🎙️ Most teams think the secret to better AI is better prompts.
Rebecca Evanhoe says that’s the wrong question.
At Slang AI, handling millions of restaurant phone calls every month means success isn’t measured by clever prompts—it’s measured by whether the system actually works.
As Rebecca tells Lauren Goerz on The Dialogue Architects:
"The future belongs to teams that can evaluate AI, not just build it."
Watch the full episode to learn how enterprise teams are creating AI experiences users can trust.

Top Stories & Insights Open-source AI is on fire. Google’s Gemma 4 12B runs multimodal AI (audio, video) locally on a laptop—a huge leap for privacy and edge computing. Meanwhile, China’s MiniMax enters the coding model fray, intensifying global competition. JetBrains open-sources Mellum2 to give developers a local, privacy-first coding assistant that works where cloud … Read more
AI’s Rapid Pace Sparks a Return to Small Models This week’s digest captures a pivotal tension in AI: the breakneck speed of large model releases has left many feeling anxious. Hugging Face’s “Build Small Hackathon” directly addresses this, encouraging developers to solve real problems with models limited to 32 billion parameters—a nod to the tinker-friendly … Read more
The pace of AI over the last year has been anxiety-inducing. Labs release larger and larger models that do more of the things that make us feel human — writing, drawing, speaking, coding. No wonder more than half of us think the risks of AI outweigh the benefits.
We’re sponsoring a hackathon to take things back to how they felt in 2021 — when models were small enough to tinker with, and the vibe was fun and hopeful about how this technology could improve our lives.
This hackathon is different. Rather than using a giant LLM to ship yet another B2B SaaS, we want you to think small. Armed with only 32 billion parameters, solve a problem someone you know is facing — or build something whimsical.
Open source projects and foundations need more than code—they need a clear strategy for long-term maintenance, growth, and sustainability. This session explores how to build an effective OSS strategy that supports project development while navigating common challenges.
Learn how to plan strategic goals, include community members and key stakeholders, address organizational and external factors, and measure progress in meaningful ways. Whether you lead an open source project, foundation, or community, this talk offers practical insights for sustainable open source success.

When AI systems gain voice, presence, or physical representation, they don’t just change what the system can do. They change what humans do. People instinctively apply social rules to agents that project presence, hesitating to interrupt an avatar mid-sentence, lowering their voice when speaking to a voice agent, or placing trust in a system simply because it has a face and a voice. To the human brain, embodiment is not a design choice. It is a cognitive switch, one that restructures how users perceive, trust, and behave toward AI in ways that are automatic, measurable, and often irrational.
This keynote explores the intersection of cognitive science and system architecture, covering why embodiment hacks human cognition and the engineering realities required to support it, including the real-world trade-offs among latency, multimodal integration, and model intelligence. The session includes a live technical walkthrough of building real-time voice and avatar agents using open-source tools and APIs, along with an analysis of embodiment’s failure modes: uncanny discomfort, overtrust, and ethical risk, and how to catch them before production. Whether you are choosing between text, voice, or a full avatar, you will leave with a new mental model for embodiment and the technical clarity to decide when to use it, when to avoid it, and how to build it right.
