Stan Wawrinka (39 ans) avait obtenu une invitation pour l’Open Occitanie, ATP 250 à Montpellier. Le 156e mondial continue de se battre, mais tout est plus compliqué désormais. Sans grande surprise, il a été battu lundi par le local de l’étape Arthur Cazaux, (6-4, 6-3)… Le Vaudois n’a pas encore gagné en 2025. Plus en forme en octobre dernier, Stan a été coupé dans son élan par la fin de saison et la remise en route parait plus difficile. Wawrinka reste encore motivé et aura l’occasion de débloquer le compteur à Rotterdam la semaine prochaine, où il est invité, puis à Doha mi-février.
