The U.S. is in the midst of the worst military recruiting environment since the inception of the volunteer force in 1973.

The Army, however, is the first branch of the service to get creative in bringing these recruits up to speed: Although only 23 percent of young Americans meet requirements. they’ve implemented a future soldier prep course to compensate, giving potential recruits 90 days to go through two tracks in the pilot program.
